Vastu Shastra is the science of architecture that teaches you how to live in harmony and influence nature for your advantage. It is part of a large body of Vedic knowledge that was written more than 5000 years ago. “Vastu” means “dweling”, and “Shastra” means “scientific treatise”. This refers to the science of building and designing homes in accordance with the eternal laws and principles of nature.
North Direction This direction will be governed by diety “Kuber”. This direction is ideal for young couples, and it’s also a good place to store valuables, important papers, jewellery, etc.
A bedroom located in the North East. This direction is controlled by Diety “shiv”. This direction does not need a bedroom as it is the Worship room.
A bedroom to the East: This direction will be governed by Diety “Surya Indra”. This direction is perfect for unmarried children
A bedroom located in the South East: This direction is governed and ruled by Diety “Agni”. It is not recommended to have a bedroom as it can lead to frequent quarrels among couples and leads them to spend excessively. This direction is not recommended for children as they are less interested in studying and have difficulty sleeping soundly.
A bedroom located in the West: The direction is controlled by Diety “Varun”. It is ideal for students. It increases the likelihood of having a greater number of girls in the household.
A bedroom located in the North West: This direction will be governed by Diety Vayu. The location is ideal for newlyweds.
Vastu Guidelines For Bedroom
Let’s also look at the Vastu principles that must be followed in the case of the bedroom.
1. Vaastu Shastr does not recommend that you have a South East bedroom. You should move from this room to another South West, South, South, or North West room. If you have no other choice, make sure the bed is not in the southeast corner. Otherwise you might be sleeping on too many fires. To avoid any ill effects, you should sleep in this room with your head to the South and your feet to the North.
2 Vaastu Shastra says that mirrors should be kept out of the bedroom. This can lead to frequent miscommunications and arguments between partners. If they are absolutely necessary, you can place them along the North East wall.
3 Wall decorations can be made with wall hangings and pictures that are attractive, as this is what you’ll see when you get up in the morning.
4 A bedroom that feels like home should have the right furniture. Vaastu recommends that bedrooms have heavy objects such as beds, cupboards, etc., so they should be placed in the South West, South West, or West directions. Avoid placing beds in the middle of the room if possible.
